Abstract
This study aims to describe the effect of realistic mathematics approach on improving students' higher order thinking skills in mathematics. The research method used in this research is a literature study. The objects in this study are 5 articles that discuss the application of the realistic mathematics approach to improve students' higher order thinking skills in Indonesia from 2019-2023. From the results of the study, the application of the realistic mathematics approach to improve students' HOTS skills can be seen from the increase in post-test scores, the improvement in cycle II, and the application of PMR as a basis in developing test instruments. Overall, the realistic mathematics approach can improve students' HOTS.
